Peace of mind that surpasses everything

One of my friends called me and said he was losing his mind and thought that his life was over. I told him to say ” I have the peace that passes all understanding”. His response was, what does that mean? This was funny to me because I made an assumption that all Christians knew the meaning of this statement. So after a few seconds of silence I had to admit that I knew the peace part but, I had to search to give full meaning to the statement. Here is what I discovered. This is a bible verse that has some contingencies however, they are easy to follow.

Philippians 4 verses 6-7
6. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

You must do 3 things to receive this peace.

1. Have no care or cast all your care on God
2. Pray and give thanks to God
3. Make your request known to God

These actions will give you peace that others around you can’t understand. Peace that stops you from screaming. Peace that keeps your heart rate normal in chaotic situations. Peace that gives you a stable mind so that you will not lose your mind ” Up in Here”. So the next time you think you are going to “Lose It” say three times.

I have the peace that passes all understanding.

Leave a comment about how peace has kept you in trying situations.

Occupy until I come

What are you going to do when you can fly?

Patient Ability – Occupy until I come

“Patient Ability – Occupy until I come” , this is an excerpt from my forthcoming book and is relevant with the events happening throughout the world as people escalate the movement started with “Occupy Wall Street”.

The statement, “Occupy until I come,” is taken directly from the bible. The quote from Luke 19, verse 12 and 13, is “A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.” Patient ability describes what to do while obtaining patience. This chapter gives examples of human nature while pursuing dominance. The entire passage from Luke is used to demonstrate the rewards of occupying (performing transactions repeatedly) while gaining Patient Ability.

This principle contains examples and vivid illustrations of patience. Most motivational books are “rah-rah” cheering books; there are certain aspects of upbeat encouragement throughout this principle. The main premise of Patient Ability is to demonstrate that in any worthwhile journey, there are aspects of continued endurance that propel you to success. This principle gives practical advice for lasting victory. Separate phases are outlined for gaining ability while building a crescendo to dominating life.

Patient Ability is the principle in which we must take a self test and determine our valuable attributes. One must honestly dig deep into what makes himself tick. This is the point where we take off the gloves. You must pull back the veil. There are plenty of things you may be good at doing; however, in order to reach your ultimate goals, you must uncover your true, great talent and develop it. You must determine your limitations so that true progress can be achieved. We all want to hunt; however, knowing how to gather is a very important aspect of increasing your ability. The real impact makers know how to gather people, resources, and energy. What should you do while being patient? What result do you want from your organized actions?

Personal Steps to Obtain Escape Momentum

The phrase “escape momentum” was used in reference to homeless veterans. There was a show on television where the director had a program that temporarily housed the veterans and fed them and motivated them. The program even assisted some people in starting over. The commentator asked what about the others that did not receive long-term help. The director said “we just hope this program gives them enough escape momentum.”

When I heard this statement it grabbed me and struck a nerve deep within my soul. There are so many challenges that can hamper a person’s rise out of bad situations, that you need specific directional propulsion to escape. There were some situations in my life that were a bit stifling. The momentum to escape was elusive and it seemed as if I was never going to escape. The old “Debbie Downer” Attitude of one step forward and two steps back.

To really manufacture a valid escape two steps forward and one step back is not enough. A series of positive steps effect lasting change. So as I pondered my life and its shortcomings I thought that there are some steps that can be engineered to produce consistent results.

1. Lighten your load
2. Have an achievable plan
3. Live your plan
4. Have relentless faith

Step 1. Lighten your load

First mentally lighten your load. Clear your mind from the baggage of your past. Address any challenges or faults that will restrain your forward progress. The process of clearing the mind is similar to clearing mines in a battlefield; take care so that the things that you extract do not explode. Delicately remove some people and situations and consistently extract all other negative aspects of how you operate. Consistency builds confidence and makes your goals seem attainable. The thoughts of failure, your former mistakes and character flaws can hamper your ascension to greatness. It is helpful to only remember the former things in regards to your original dreams and aspirations.

Step 2. Have an achievable plan

Achievable plans can be lofty
• To write and publish a book
• Educate all the orphans in your area
• To be a professional singer
• To be a CEO of a major company
• To loose 100 pounds
• Debt freedom and financially independent in 5 years

Achievable plans are not always small. Large achievable plans are exciting because they involve more than one person. The others that help you with your plan will benefit from your vision. Large plans are fine if they are realistic. If you are forty it is not realistic to be Ms. America. But they do have pageants that are age appropriate. Write these goals and prominently display them. It is a good idea to share with at least one confidante the details of your plans, this will hold you accountable. For a while your one friend that believes in you may be God. So none of us are alone as long as we have and plan and a loving forgiving God.

Step 3. Live your plan

The difference in the statements, work your plan and live your plan are subtle yet monumental. To work your escape plan you means you occasionally think about it when there is time between living your life and every day happenings. Any thing that we work on is easily set aside. Thoughts of work prompt a sense of duty or forced coercion and the results are incremental and possibly inconsequential. It is good to work your plan but when you live your plan, you wake up in the morning thinking of your plan. At breakfast you read about where you want to go. Your inner circle is almost tired of hearing about your plan. Your dreams consist primarily of ways to execute your plan and the benefits successful completion will afford you. If you have no money you find free activities that prop up your plan. Eventually things will arrive at your doorstep that will promote your plan. To live your plan is to escape before you have actually escaped.

Step 4. Have relentless faith

Relentless faith stands firm in the face of all circumstances. Your current position is in the soup line but you are talking about being an executive chef. While shopping at the plus size store you are planning to buy a bikini and look good next year. All of the people to whom you pitched a plan may respond negatively but none of this is a deterrent. To be relentless is to convert discouragement into encouragement. Your faith will ultimately change your face. Once you lock in your goal hold it until your dying day. You will obtain your personal escape momentum if you have relentless faith.

Answered Questions

In the times we find ourselves in most people are questioning God, ourselves and our motives. Some are even questioning their existence. As to why I am here? How did I get myself into this mess? These questions are valid and would help anyone who received answers to them. It would also help their spheres of influence. There are some unexplainable events. People pass unexpectedly, jobs layoff, disappointing relationships, blah, blah, blah. All of these go into the category of secret things. If you can’t control or influence the outcome then leave them for God to handle. The other parts of life which are revealed to us, we are obligated to investigate. By investigate I mean study what was revealed to you. Allow me to digress a little. Most will say that “revealed stuff” is for someone with more time on their hands. Or for a person who has dedicated themselves to hearing God, a preacher or priest or more spiritual individual. I beg to differ. Everyone is lead or has had something revealed to them. Some unexplainable truth or direction that cannot be purged from their being. This thing, idea, feeling that keeps you motivated or keeps nagging you until you fully address it. So now as you take a moment to re……….discover. I said re-discover what this revelation is for you. You can begin to take the steps to make it happen. My revealed thing is that I am an Inspirationalist, Writer and Thinker. This I must do with all of my might. May you be encouraged to…

Eat as much as you Like

One morning I decided to make breakfast. There was bacon, the thick kind that makes the whole house smell good. Next, I pulled out the cinnamon raisin bread direct from the baker. It was soft on the inside and firm on the crust. Demands from my brain overtly suggested French toast. In our house to make French toast batter you need a few ingredients: milk, eggs and cinnamon (lots of cinnamon). While stirring the ingredients together it is time to add butter to a hot skillet. To get the perfect crispy golden brown results you must use real butter the fake stuff is a poor substitute. After cooking the toast to perfection I served it to my children. I gave each of them a generous portion with hot maple syrup.

Now it is my time to devour this savory breakfast and I look at my daughter and see that she is already finished. Wishing to satisfy my children I offered her my food. She stood up and began to eat. I told her to take her time and get full. I invited her to sit in my chair and “eat as much as you would like.” When she finished she said “thanks Dad” and smiled and continued with her morning preparations. As I was preparing coffee to enjoy the rest of my wonderful breakfast my son asked “Dad, are you finished with your French toast?” I asked “would you like some more French toast?” He said “sure.” As he is eating he keeps looking up at me. Using the intuition of a father I said” eat as much as you would like!” Now as he is finishing the plate his mother and sister were going to the car, it was time to go to school. He began to hurry and was about to leave only a little bit on the plate. I asked them to wait and told him to finish “you will not get in trouble.” Once he finished he looked up at me and said “come here I want to give you a kiss and hug.” When they were pulling out of the driveway I placed the plate in the dishwasher and drank the only breakfast I would get that morning and I thought “I am full.” Full with love and admiration for my family.

Reflecting on what just happened I could only think, this is how the Lord must feel in reference to us (his children). A flood of scripture came over me. One verse says “I am come that they might have life, and they might have it more abundantly.” This clearly mimics the thoughts I had that day. Sometimes we think to get just enough to survive is our fate. The Lord specifically states that his wish is for us to not only have (a) life but to have super-abundance, more than enough. Next, the scripture “I will prepare table before you in the presence of your enemy” came to mind. This fit perfectly with what took place. Here the enemy was time, time to go to school. Without provocation my son was ready to give up what his father desired for him to continue with his busy life. Since our family is on the path to mastering patience, once again the opportunity to practice what we study arises. Now think of what in your life is set by the Father that you must take advantage and enjoy the abundance.

The other part of the scripture on abundance reads “you (the Lord) anoint my head with oil: my cup runs over.” The Father has more opportunity, more peace, more joy and more victory in mind for you than you can imagine. The quote from book of Jeremiah is “I know the thoughts I think towards you says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” So let us all remember this in our every day activities. Eat as much as you would like.
