Walk like you Talk

1 John 2 verse 6

In my men’s group “Cards on the Table”, we were discussing relationships. Above is one of the scriptures. I commented that the actor who portrays Jesus in the Series “The Chosen” does a fantastic job demonstrating walking in the Lord. My favorite characteristic is how he is pensive before every action. It seems to indicate that all his thoughts and actions are first submitted to the Lord. If we abide in him our thoughts and actions will be submitted to his will. Demonstrate your commitment to the Father by walking like Jesus.

God is Not Mad at You

The Father in Heaven spoke to me about those who think He is mad at them. In this time it seems He is mad at the entire planet. But, He pleaded with me to write and tell you. He is not mad with you. You are His children, and he wants a relationship with you. Arm and arm we are together in this relationship.

Jer. 31:3 Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love, therefore with loving kindness have I drawn thee.

God has always loved you, and He desires to draw you to His love with love.

Jer 31:20 … I do earnestly remember Him still; therefore my bowels are troubled for Him . I will surely have mercy upon Him saith the Lord.

When you are troubled, ” God is troubled”. I challenge you to name any offense or objection, for even these, He forgives you and has mercy on you. Any other thought foreseen is a lie, God Is Not Mad At You, He Loves You.

You are fit for the Kingdom. He will nourish you. Change the way you view your relationship with God. God does not hold grudges like man.

Jer. 31:25 For I have satisfied the wavy soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.

God is a replenisher – not a punisher. So stop running around and thinking that He is mad at you. If you rest in the facts that God Is Not Mad At You, you will even get the benefit of sweet sleep.

Jer. 31:26 Upon this (knowing that He is not mad) I awoke and looked around. My sleep had been pleasant to me.

Have joy in the small things

Do you pray for the small things? A small prayed I said recently was, “Lord I thank you that nothing is lost, therefore I thank you that I find my pocket knife.”  It seems trivial to ask the God of the universe for something as inconsequential as a pocket knife but I was thinking about it so I asked.  The knife was out of my possession for about 6 months

I was looking for my keys in the drawer that I normally keep my keys and way in the back I saw the knife.  The joy that I felt was overwhelming.  My heart was warm and the smile on my face was one of those cheek burners (the kind of smile that make your cheeks hurt because you’re smiling too hard).  What struck me as odd is that I haven’t felt this way in a while. What caused me to feel this way about this small tool?

We are thankful for the things that give us joy more than the ones that make us happy.  Sometimes we take our joy for granted. Joy normally comes from gifts that keep giving.   Do you have people or things that are in your life that you do realize are truly significant? So why did I have so much joy in finding this small part of my Life?

 

Here are some reasons I have joy over this knife hopefully you will have more meaningful things and people that give you joy

  1. My knife is useful

This particular knife is a Case brand knife that is maybe 4 ½ inches long open and thin but it is not fragile.  It is strong enough to turn screws.   It can whittle branches to nothing and perform delicate razor operations

2.   A little attention makes it perform better

The second thing I did after I put it my pocket and tapped it a couple of times, was to sharpen it.  If I take care of it, it will cut anything I ask of it.  Just like the people around you.   Don’t take anyone or anything for lightly.

3    Joy is small enough to hide in plain sight

Many things that give us joy are right in plain sight.  This knife was tucked away in a drawer that I use daily and when I have it I throw it in my pocket where it stays until I need it.  Moments are precious – look around and be thankful.

 

The Bible quote that completes this thought is:

Philippians 4:6 (KJV)

Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

 

God is interested in your well-being and your joy.  Look for the people and things that promote the warm feeling of joy and ask God to increase your awareness of them.

How does your perfect house look?

Psalm 101

After reading this Psalm I had a few questions.

Who were these wicked?
Who are the faithful of the land?
What if you are the city and the evil doers are the spirits you allow to dwell inside of you?
Can you root them out?
You read it and see what you believe God is saying through David.

King James Version (KJV) A psalm of David

1 will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O Lord, will I sing.
2 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.
3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.
4 A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person.
5 Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.
6 Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.
7 He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.
8 I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the Lord.

David seems to have an ability to see himself and all of the forces that come against him. He even has a solution to combat the eveil within and the external evil. So keep your eyes away from wicked things, keep your eyes on the faithful of the land and destroy all of your thoughts early in the process.
