Stay prosperous: Honor the Sabbath

Yesterday was one of the oddest Sunday’s I have experienced in a while. We did not attend church service because we were sending my son off to Boy Scout camp early in the morning. This Sunday was odd because of the scripture from the Bible that our family studied all week was Jeremiah 17. One particular verse was Jeremiah 17:24.

How my children see Jeremiah 17

24 And it shall come to pass, if ye diligently hearken unto me, saith the Lord, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the Sabbath day, but hallow the Sabbath day, to do no work therein;

There are other verses that support this precept but I challenged myself to go literal with this scripture and test to see if I could keep to the letter of the law and do absolutely no work. This seems like an easy task but the truth of the matter is that every moment of free time can be taken up by thoughts and actions directly related to work. I wanted to work on this blog which opposes this scripture. Then I said I would prepare the vehicles for Monday’s assignment more labor on the Sabbath. Around the house more chores and organizing continued to call my name.

At every turn and thought of labor I thanked God for giving time in the future and making a way for all the task to be complete. Then I decided to give Him the glory at every thought of labor and turn my heart to the blessing He bestowed on me. Thinking on Him all day was different than I had experienced in a long while. This is when I likened this Sunday to a day of fasting. Giving up something for the Lord’s sake.

We now have grace under the blood of Jesus and it is difficult to truly rest on the Sabbath. I challenge you to pick a Sabbath and try to be strict about and see how liberal God will be with His blessing.

Diligence makes dreams achievable

To stay serious or diligent about a daily task assures that complacency does not enter your mind.  Keep complacency at bay by creating activities that promote progress.

The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want

The term “plenteousness” should be a thought believers seek out. We have a Father who is thinking about us dominating the earth, we should line up to his way of thinking.

Allow your mind to focus on the abundance of the Kingdom of God here on this earth. Once the influence of change raises its head you have to give it room to roam, do not sequester it.  We hold up advancement in our lives with doubt and fear .  These are enemies to those who are serious about their dreams.  Lack of diligence is evident to all observers so do not fool yourself by making excuses.

Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

Most of us are pretty serious about the work that provides a roof over our families but to achieve what I call full bodied success we must hit our lives with a “shock and awe” type attack.  Surprise your daily routine with actions that will uplift your status immediately. Try it today, put all of the phone calls that are hard or challenging up first and make them without fear.  Anything that will move the ball forward must be done today.  For those of you that claim that you want more family time get serious about it today and make a commitment that you will stick to and provide short term actions that indicates that you are truly serious.  Remember:

Dominate your thoughts,  Dominate your Actions, Dominate your World tm

Get so serious about winning that you have no lapses in judgment and that’s when you will see domination occur. You have no lapses judgment when you do not “deal with a slack hand” and you are sure about your purpose. Diligence makes people look different and according to the Bible they never fall and diligence makes you rich.

He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich

Diligence ties the principles of patience together. Proverbs 21:5 infers to that those who are hasty will have want or lack in their lives. The “Patient Mind” continues forward adding the necessary tools and actions to be successful. If you are seriously diligent about life you can “achieve your dreams”.

2 Peter 1:4-6

5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

Impenetrable Vision

Birmingham Police Chief AC Roper made a comment in a speech that ignited an idea.

I have to solidify, codify what I want to become. How will Christmas 2013 look? What steps are needed to get there? What do I have to run from? What must I turn to?

The dictionary definition of of impenetrable is:

1.not penetrable; that cannot be penetrated, pierced, entered, etc. 2. inaccessible to ideas, influences, etc.3. incapable of being understood; inscrutable; unfathomable: an impenetrable mystery

If your vision lacks clarity continue to write until it is crystal clear. Most vision takes time to develop and you have to shed the outside influences that want to attach to your original purpose.  When ideas are written it is easy to return to and hard to depart from them.

Vision is impenetrable when you support it with positive audible confessions.  You have to encourage yourself in the interim. I am a big advocate for making your claim audible especially to yourself. Your vision of success has to be the loudest most consistent voice in your head. To combat feelings of loneliness visionaries have to hear positive reinforcements and insulate themselves from naysayers.

In order to carry a positive action we must develop here a positive  vision.

out for fake dream helpers. These are people who have aspirations close your vision but only steal your energy. Fake dream helpers are like familiar spirits, they seem to be exactly what you need to acquire your vision. In reality they are just hoping to be close to you when success arrives.  Check everyone’s motives and value before making a commitment.

Supernatural Business

SuperNatural Business is the name of a book by Mike Floyd of Mike Floyd Ministries. The entire book is timeless and is filled with wisdom and practical business insight rarely shared in a book. The wisdom of Mr. Floyd leaps off the pages to gently guide you to understand the tenets of a Supernatural Business.
Chapter 7 is devoted entirely to Patience and named “The Virtue of Patience”. As you can imagine when I came upon this chapter my senses were captivated. One of the scriptures he uses is,
That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. Heb 6:12
He writes, “This verse shows that faith and patience are “power twins”. I agree that these two virtues can make your business a “Supernatural” success. Niether is easy by itself but together they can move any mountain. Power comes from knowing that your faith in your endeavors is undergirded with the patience to produce results.
The chapter “The virtue of Patience” is worth reading the entire book and the quotes are like nuggets of gold all over this project. Take a weekend and explore how to make you business a Supernatural Business.

Wisdom will show you the value of patience… Mike Floyd

Small steps every single day

  • Joint Base Lewis McChordImproving your attitude and response to nagging issues can be a catalyst to great success
  • Change your habits so that you look like who you want to become
  • There are no vacations from improvements

Ephesians 3:12-13 (KJV)

12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

13 Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

Confidence can be added through small successful steps.  Progress of any kind extends your patience. All marathons began with one step forward.  Some dreams are lofty but with a good plan and a lot of small steps you can reach the apex.

2 Corinthians 5:6-8 (KJV)

6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:

7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

Humans constantly search for the fast immediate cure to appear but leave off the fact that most significant contributions need lots of patient processes.  Beauty in the journey becomes evident when you pay attention to the details.  Details like going to obscure gatherings that will educate you on how to perfect your craft. Details fix cracks in your thinking that could side track momentum.  It takes a calm mind to enjoy the miniscule thoughts and pleasures knowing that all things benefit greater goals.  One solid way to add confidence is to improve responses to nagging issues.  Your response determines your character. Daily monitor physical and oral responses because these are little actions that promote big feelings.  Change habits to mimic who you want to become.  If your desires are royal then your habits should reflect this.

James 1:4

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing

There are no vacations from improvements.  Once a goal or dream is achieved immediate recalculation is necessary. Slipping back into old habits or thought processes can make victories fleeting.  Enjoy the progress and add more expectations.  There is no limit, one step at a time.

What small step will you make towards your goal today?

Hebrews 6:14-16 (KJV)

14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise

Spirit of Cooperation

Do not be afraid to explore the Spirit of Cooperation which helps you kindle the flame of your passion and ignite your environment.http://www.flickr.com/photos/35005631@N02/

  • Cooperate with others by having a full understanding of the mutual benefits that may not give equal advantages.
  • Allow a free flow of ideas with respect to the ideas you are opening to others.
  • Let the ideas and knowledge of others join with yours to propel everyone involved higher.

The Spirit of Cooperation is a spirit of peace, if there is no peace there is no deal. Do not move past your peaceful zone. I use this in business all the time. Some deals look good on paper but they do not give me a sense of peace. Go with peace and cooperation.

Ecclesiastes 4:12(KJV)

12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken

Your comfort zone must be challenged but your peace shall not be moved. Allow peace to rule and have resolve then all will work out in your favor. Add oxygen to the flame of your dream and experience the splendor of success. Other people’s ideas and energy are oxygen for your fire to succeed. In this world you need people to win.

Mark 4:39
And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

How are you going to promote the Spirit of Cooperation?

Word of the Day: You are never stuck in a situation with God.

He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God. Daniel 3:25(KJV)

What a wonderful thought, that God is with you no matter where you are. If you wrongly accused or if you created the situation yourself He is with you all the way. No one looks forward to trouble but it is nice to know that even in the fire you have protection. This passage also demonstrates that you are free within your challenges and able to walk around. You are never stuck in a situation with God.

Build your Small Business and Protect it

The only constant thing in business is that there is more do than you can handle. While you increase sales you must produce a product or service. While you enjoy success you should prepare for hard times.  Rising early to fulfill business obligations means rising earlier to take care of personal ones (working out/ prayer).

They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon.  Nehemiah 4:17

US_Army_Afghanistan_2006

This story is about Nehemiah rebuilding the wall and how as soon as he looked as if he had some progress others “conspired” against him. Dreams become reality brick by brick.

How are you going to Build and protect the things that are important in your life?

Heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth,

And conspired all of them together to come and to fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it. Nehemiah 4:7-8

This could be your business or some part of your life. To build your business you need sales and sales take work. In building a successful sales system you have to pick up all the “Bricks”(sales) that are around you first. Do not allow anyone come in and pick up the sales that are right around you.  These are easy to protect, you see them everyday.  Take them and build the foundation of your business.  If your life or business is in shambles think about how Israel could have left but Nehemiah stayed and built the wall.

As the wall came together he devised a plan to help when the enemy came rushing in.  As you build the wall of your business, let your help know what you will need when you grow.  Do not be afraid speak about your future dominance(goals).

Example: Mr. Banker, “What kind of contracts do I need to get a signature loan or do you know about “assigns”?” You are only as big as you think and say.

How to Win in Life: Go through it

http://www.flickr.com/photos/95443843@N08/To reach your goals requires effort and work and sacrifice. You must go through it. All worthy goals have processes that you have to complete. Some goals have a difficult process and some goals have an easy process either way you have to complete the steps to obtain your goal whatever the path just “‘Go through it”.

See the other side

When you start something significant you have to form the whole image of what good success looks like. Make mental pictures and post a few physical one also. Write down the goal and write what it looks like. If your goal is to be a public speaker, do you speak to intimate business groups or do you see yourself filling arenas for Christians? Be specific how you see yourself and your goals.

Understand the Benefits

There are benefits to making the decision to “Go through it”. The most obvious benefit is the experience. Every journey has a life lesson that comes with the territory. Early in the process you have to focus on the intrinsic value of what you feel and learn.  If you have a weight loss goal one of the benefits of “Going through it” is that you gain the badge of consistency.  THis benefit of consistency becomes a tool that will help you accomplish anything. Open your mind when the process is foggy because in that moment you are the co-creator and quite possibly a new process is born.  Achievers understand the benefits of “Going through it” and embrace so they can repeat them in their next level of success.

Make your calling sure

2 Peter 1:10 (KJV)

10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall

Once you decide to do something good then follow through until completion. Make sure of your calling. No one likes a “Waffler” and life does not reward fluctuating behavior.  Creators and innovators have moment where nothing looks right and it seems like they can not make weeds grow. These are the times to encourage yourself and “Go through it”. Difficult part is getting and not knowing the end results. When you are sure of your goals and dreams you are willing to “Go through it”.

1 Corinthians 7:20 (KJV)

20 Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.

Honor your mother and enjoy your day

Exodus 20:12 (KJV)

12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee

Here is a great big thank you to all the mothers rasing champions. Those of you that feel like you have chronologically raised champions but are still pushing them to greatness well past graduation: Thank you for continuing the fight.  Your children are the blessing.  God sees your work and will continue to send you the blessing. Your children shall enjoy long days.

Every late night whether you were helping with homework or waiting up for your teenager to return is counted to your credit. If “browny points” were visible “a mothers” points are a mountain that reaches the sky. Words can not express the wonderful feelings I have for my patient mother. The mother of my children, my wife, has done a phenominal job blessing me with great children. A thousand thank you’s to all the mothers working under the radar.

I am remindided of the Louis Armstrong song, Wondreful World. This is a wonderful world because mothers put in the necessary time and effort molding their children. The children will enjoy long days when they heed the advice of their mothers.

What advice did your mother give that added enjoyment to your days?
